Weddings can be joyous occasions often riddled with stress, especially if you are on a tight budget. As a fresh bride myself, I can relate to the universal dilemma, “WHAT SHOULD I DO WITH THE ESCORT-CARDS?”

Throw away the traditional escort-card table and make a lasting impression with this DIY idea.

*Supplies*

  • Log
  • Branches
  • Ribbon (based on your theme colors)
  • Fake flowers (theme colors)
  • Hanging crystals (clear)
  • Clear jewelry string
  • Escort-cards
  • Spray paint
  • Hot glue gun w/glue sticks

Step-By-Step Instructions

  1. Find/buy branches (the number of branches is determined by how many guests you will have)
  2. Spray paint branches (silver, white, gold, or black)
  3. Find/buy a log (you may have to stain or paint). I used two fence-post railings and attached them together (apx. 8ft long). You can purchase fence-post railings at Home Depot or Ace hardware. You can cut the log into sections or keep it whole like I did.
  4. Drill holes into wood and place branches inside
  5. After you have completed your guest list, put place-cards in alphabetical order.
  6. Cut ribbon in various lengths and attach escort-cards with hot glue. Add flowers to the top or bottom of the ribbon. Hang on tree.
  7. Add a few hanging flowers without cards on them.
  8. Hang crystal prisms on tree (make various lengths-some long/some short)
  9. Decorate table with fabric, pictures, etc.
